The Way to a Woman's Heart

If the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, then a way to a woman’s heart is through her kid(s). So if you have a wife, daughter, sister, friend or coworker that you’d like to love and support, read on about a piece of her heart. As a Mom, there is no limit to the ways that we love and care for our children. We’re our child’s teacher, nurse, cook, taxi, maid, entertainer and magician holding the family together. Love is poured over our children in these countless forms day after day, year after year. It’s like a garden that we’re constantly tending to. Doing our best, in ways that God has uniquely gifted us, to ensure that our child(ren) grow up to be who God created them to be. If a woman doesn’t have kids of her own, don’t you count her out for a single second. She’s nourishing something. Every woman I know is. Be it her career, her volunteer efforts, her nieces/nephews/Godchildren, her talents or passions. She’s loving and supporting others around her in ways that only she can. And that love is a gift that our world continues to need. I know I’m thankful for the many women around me that continue to support our community and our world in a way that only they can. As part of my involvement with the Infertility and Loss Support Group we talk often about the Warriors that God molded us into during our long and painful journeys. We’ve had to fight and persevere our way through countless treatments, endless doctor’s appointments, numerous home studies and an exhausting number of “no’s” before we reach our “yes”. Not to mention the amount of time that passes us by as we wear out the carpet on our knees before God. The journey feels as though it creates a pendulum that swings to its opposite end once our child(ren) are here to lean in and love them all that much more. To celebrate milestones with us, to support and encourage us and to love and accept our child(ren) as the gifts from God that they are. And to honor our losses and continue to talk about the Heavenly Babie(s) that we are Mother’s to as well. All that to say, with Mother’s Day tomorrow, if you really want to reach the heart of a Mother, start with her kids. Join her in loving them, encouraging them and supporting them. Tell her the good that you see in the contributions that she makes to this world. ❤️

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25
